This is probably one the best and now one of my most demanded from scratch recipes... according to my husband. Whenever I mention that tacos are on the dinner menu, homemade tortillas are the immediate request.. and with how tasty they are, I don't mind it one bit! I started making homemade tortillas as a challenge to myself and immediately fell in love with not only the process but the flavor! Delicious flour tortillas from an Irish girl... who you'd have thought?! The recipe is simple and the reward is great.

1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 cup warm water

I’ve been learning to make flour tortillas for a couple months now and I have loved the results. This recipes creates tortillas that are perfectly tender, soft and full of good flavor. They're also so EASY to make! If you have a stand mixer (link for our KitchenAid here), you can have the dough ready in less than 10 minutes.
After mixing, I’s important to let the dough rest, helping to relax the glutens, in order to make rolling the tortillas much easier. Cut the dough into 16 even balls (you can measure but I am more the “let’s eye-ball it” type.
Roll each piece nice and thin. Cook for one to two minutes on each side in a hot, dry pan.
My only promise is after you have made these, you’ll never want pre-packaged tortillas again!
