Spicy Shrimp Tacos

Happy Monday friends! I'm back with another delicious recipe and this one is easily one of my favorites! I'm always up for a good taco and I'm proud to say that these spicy shrimp tacos hit the spot. The contrast of spicy shrimp with cool, ranch cabbage slaw is incredible. The only way to top this recipe was to make homemade tortillas, of course! I love this recipe because it's simple, yet delicious! Don't worry, you beginner cooks, you can easily nail this recipe and leave your guests utterly impressed.

Spicy Shrimp Tacos

spicy shrimp

shrimp (about 4 per taco will do)

2 Tbsp Sriracha

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp onion powder

a pinch of red pepper flakes

salt and pepper

cabbage slaw

1/4 green cabbage, chopped

1/4 red cabbage, chopped

1 large carrot, shredded

2 Tbsp ranch dressing

1 Tbsp Sriracha

2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

There is no judgement over here if you buy store bought tortillas, however if you want to take on an adventure and make your own homemade tortillas, check out my simple recipe here!

What I like about this recipe is that it's versatile! You can substitute white fish in place of shrimp. If you don't want it as spicy, half the amount of Sriracha or remove completely. If using frozen shrimp (or fish), make sure it's thawed, de-veined and shelled. In a large bowl, combine shrimp and seasoning until shrimp is generously coated. Let shrimp marinate while you make the cabbage slaw.

Add chopped cabbage and shredded carrot to a large bowl. Mix in Sriracha, ranch dressing and ACV. Salt and pepper to taste. Let the slaw marinate while you cook the shrimp.

In a hot skillet (lightly oiled), add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on either side. Fill tortillas with cabbage slaw, shrimp and top with green onion or fresh cilantro!
