DIY Shower Melts

The fall season brings gorgeous fall leaves and crisp fall weather. Sadly, it also brings a plethora of germs. It seems as though everywhere I look, I see loved ones and coworkers reaching for tissues. I don't know about you, but our home refuses to give in to the cold and flu season! So I did a little research and found a solution that is simple to make and easy to use!

I wanted to share this recipe for DIY Shower Melts because let's be honest, everyone needs them. Just a few simple ingredients for some huge relief!

Recipe:

(makes 6 discs)

2 cups baking soda

1/2 cup water

25-40 drops of essential oil

To make:

Add baking soda to a large glass bowl. Add water (starting with 1/4 cup and adding more if needed). Consistency should look like a thick paste. Add in essential oils and mix well. Spoon mixture into silicone molds approximately 3/4 of the way full. Allow to dry overnight or for faster drying, bake for 1 hour in a 250 degree oven. Remove from molds when completely dry.

To use:

Place on the shower floor. The heat of the shower and drops of water will dissolve the baking soda and release the essential oils into the air. A 15 minute shower will melt a disk to half the size.

Store in an airtight container until

ready to use!
